Conversations with Paul
I had the perfect life, a gorgeous loving husband, a strong marriage, a good job and planning travel around Europe and Australia, a dream we both had for many years.
In a split second that all came crashing down when Paul, my husband was diagnosed with a rare melanoma invading his spine. Within 17 months to the day from diagnosis he was dead. During that time he endured, 5 spinal surgeries and 1 brain surgery due to a bleed on the brain from a tumour. During this time he went through radiation and immune therapy in the hope that it would give him time.
I wrote Conversations with Paul to share the journey of a remarkable man who showed such bravery during a long illness and as I prepared him for death, this amazing man prepared me for life after him.
Life changes
Since writing Conversations with Paul, I have gone on to travel around the world with a cardboard cut-out of Paul keeping my promise to him and writing the book #travellingwithcardboardpaul and followed up with the new book Death Dying & Beyond.
